I liked this one! It had a ton of vegetarian/vegan (not all were vegan, but most were) recipes, and was basically the resource I had been looking for as a vegetarian. There are recipes for things like enchiladas, pad thai, and lettuce wraps, as well as dessert, breakfast, and snacks. There are a bunch of funny stories (like the daiquiri ice choking incident at Baskin Robbins) that go with the recipes, which make reading the book fun as well. I made the tortillas, which turned out great. I would definitely recommend this one!

I was not familiar with Sarah Matheny or her blog, and I put this on hold at the library because I've been looking for ideas for vegetarian meals. I never read the description, only the title, and did not realize this was a vegan cookbook. I flipped through the recipes, but none looked appealing, being that I am not vegan. The layout is bright, colorful and easy to follow, and the anecdotes about her husband and kids are fun. For vegans, I bet this would be a great resource--I just wish it had been more clear that this was a vegan cookbook.

This was one of the those books that I kept checking out from the library and eventually had to buy it, so I didn't have to return it when someone else wanted it! The recipes are not mind-blowing original, but basic and yummy, especially the Sausage and Pepper Pasta Bake. Her desserts, salad dressings, muffins, and healthy energy bar treats are all amazing. Yes, there is an abundance of photos of her kids and yes, the recipe introductions can be long, but they are funny, and if you are a mom, you will LOL. If you have a family, you will appreciate these no-fuss, kid-friendly recipes!

Mostly vegan recipes. I tried a few and found them quite delicious...2 kinds of roasted chickpeas for healthy snacking, a couple of great salad dressings. I liked the cute photos of the author's daughters and the rather long but very interesting anecdotes that accompany each recipe. I won't buy it though, not enough recipes that I would use. I like eggs and cheese in my diet.
