From the author of the global phenomenon Ranger's Apprentice!

Hal and the Herons have done the impossible. This group of outsiders has beaten out the strongest, most skilled young warriors in all of Skandia to win the Brotherband competition. But their celebration comes to an abrupt end when the Skandians' most sacred artifact, the Andomal, is stolen--and the Herons are to blame.

To find redemption they must track down the thief Zavac and recover the Andomal. But that means traversing stormy seas, surviving a bitter winter, and battling a group of deadly pirates willing to protect their prize at all costs. Even Brotherband training and the help of Skandia's greatest warrior may not be enough to ensure that Hal and his friends return home with the Andomal--or their lives.

Perfect for fans of J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, T.H. White's The Sword in the Stone, Christopher Paolini's Eragon series, and George R. R. Martin's Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire series.

Lydia is amazing! She adds so much more comedy and interest in the book, also with her weapon. I do wonder why Thorn and Lydia get along so well...

The Invaders-number two of in the Brotherband Chronicles, and not as good as the first. The new girl character Mr. John Flanagan added was not good at all and would have been better had she not been there at all. I've started reading the Hunters, and she gets worse. I just hope she is not in the Slaves of Socorro, or in the rest of the series, or she is killed, because, I will celebrate. All the same, the book was good and I liked it, you should read it along with one and three of the chronicles.
P.S. The Rangers Apprentice is also equal as good!!!

This ended up being a whole lot of running around and a long battle at the end which we had to read after already reading all the millions of plans they made up. After the "okay" first book this one was a flunk. The new girl character that was added in was no good and annoying. I am still looking forward to the next book but it probably would've been better if the battle the whole book was about was just at the ending of the first one as the climax.

i think it is just okay
the ranger's apprentice series is much better than this one. i felt like i already knew the way of skandian so this book is kinda boring and that's why it is not as famous as the ranger series
