Back with a vengeance for a sixth season of startling suspense and unexpected twists. It's been a year since last season's shocking and heartbreaking conclusion, and mild mannered criminologist-cum-grisly serial killer Dexter Morgan has come to terms with who he is. But his existence is shattered when he crosses paths with an enemy unlike any he's faced before. A delusional religious zealot with unflinching convictions, this new adversary soon draws Dexter into a dangerous game.

SPOILER ALERT>>>>> You know the 3 minutes of Showtime previews that plays when you put the disc in, don't watch it. I saw the other review below and tried to fast forward or hit the menu button but neither worked. They put the cliffhanger ending to the season you are about to watch in the previews they force you to watch on each disc. I don't skip to the back of a book to find out the ending before I read it, so why would I want to see that on DVD.

Things pick back up in this one after the weaker 5th season. The cliffhanger on this one was killer for those of us who had to wait a while for the next season!

"Bad guys" were more weird than sinister. Colin Hanks was a strange casting choice. And I don't buy the relationship twist between Deb and Dexter. Still good, but not quite up to previous years' standards.

Michael C. Hall gets 5-stars. He deserved an Emmy for his performance as “Dexter”.

There are enough twists and turns to make this season quite enjoyable, an improvement from the previous two.

The weakest of the series. If not for Michael C. Hall's acting it wouldn't have been worth it.

DON'T WATCH THE PREVIEW TRAILERS AT THE BEGINNING OF THESE DISCS BEFORE YOU GET TO THE MENU!!! ...The morons actually put the ending scene of this season in the freakin trailers, which spoils the surprise ending of Season 6. This season is still worth watching, but I consider it the worst season of Dexter. Hanks and Olmos are good actors and I've enjoyed them in other shows (Roswell and Battlestar Galactica) but I just don't feel like they cut it in Dexter. Every scene with them was just flat for me. At the time of this review, season 7 is out, and they rebounded nicely for it, so don't get discouraged with the entire show if you're like me and wind-up not liking season 6 very much.

So so, not as great as the seasons before it. But still managed to keep me entertained.

This series can just do no wrong in my eyes. The concept, acting, dialogue and brutal violence mesh together in to a show like no other. Obviously, start from season one, but if you don't mind a graphic show (violence, sex and language) you will get hooked by the storyline and the smart writing.

Dexter must kept on his work to rid Miami of serial killers and injustice with his usual (unusual) ritual. (Closed captions won't work with hdmi connection; use the AV mode.)

Dexter: I guess it's fitting that I end up where I've left so many others. I only wonder if the world is going to be a better place without me. It's wrong what people say about dying. I'm not flashing back over my life, over the lives I've taken. I'm thinking about the life I'll miss. Harrison. I'll miss watching my son grow up
