Kirk and other members of the crew of the original Enterprise attend the launching of the new Enterprise. The ship receives a distress call and they must try to rescue two ships engulfed in a ribbon of energy. Among those saved are Soran and Guinan. Kirk is killed in the process of saving the Enterprise from destruction. Four generations later, Picard receives a distress call and rescues Soran. He tells Picard about the Nexus, that ribbon of energy and how it is an eternal paradise. Soran's plan is to redirect the path of the Nexus by destroying a densely inhabited planet. With the help of the "dead" Kirk, Picard foils his scheme.

Great special effects and makeup with the Borg nasties. Once again carries on the tradition of Star Wars and Star Trek in total suspension of Newtonian physics in any form. There ain't no sound in SPACE why we call it SPACE. Star Ships don't bank to turn in SPACE. Acting was above average for a space cowboy film and Patrick Stewart should be ashamed but without him it would be so awful, he forces the others to try. Makeup on the humanoids was way overdone, Dr. Crusher looked like a plastic Barbie.

Khan may be the Star Trek movie that people put on a pedestal, but First Contact is the movie that proves that Star Trek can tell any story. A killer Zombie flick, a "reluctant hero" flick, epic space battle, humor, and heart... This movie has it all. Have a friend that isn't sure about Star Trek, show them this movie. Seen it yourself? WATCH IT AGAIN!

In my opinion, the best Star Trek movie out there, out of the 13 or so that are now out there. It has the best of the TNG cast, with some great new additions, a clever and complex story, and some impressive (and creepy) practical special effects.

I saw this movie in the theater and people in the audience actually screamed in fear at the Borg (the Borg Queen's costume was designed by the same dude who designed the alien in "ALIEN"), cheered in jubilation at the bravery of the Enterprise crew (Worf: "Assimilate THIS!"), and were moved to tears at the beauty of the final scenes and message of friendship and hope (New Book Idea: "How to shake hands with a Vulcan"). THIS MOVIE IS AWESOME. The best Trek so far.

Captain Kirk and Picard team up in one of the most epic Star Trek films!

Features vengeful Klingons, a soul searching android, family tragedy, science fiction adventure, and of course a thrilling finale!

As Weird Al sang in White & Nerdy, "only question I ever thought was hard
was do I like Kirk or do I like Picard?" They're both featured in this film & they have to work together to stop renegade scientist Tolian Soran.
