For the first time in hardcover, an expanded, radically refashioned "director's cut" of a favorite Chuck Palahniuk novel.

Injected with new material and special design elements, Invisible Monsters Remix fulfills Chuck Palahniuk's original vision for his 1999 novel, turning a daring satire on beauty and the fashion industry into an even more wildly unique reading experience. Palahniuk's fashion-model protagonist has it all--boyfriend, career, loyal best friend--until an accident destroys her face, her ability to speak, and her self-esteem. Enter Brandy Alexander, Queen Supreme, one operation away from becoming a bona-fide woman. Laced in are new chapters of memoir and further scenes with the book's characters. Readers will jump between chapters, reread the book to understand the dissolve between fiction and fact, and decipher the playful book design, embarking on a ride they'll never forget.

The perfect holiday to kick back with your closest of friends and family, stuff yourself to the gills with turkey and mashed potatoes, and pass out on the couch. If your family was anything like mine, though, Thanksgiving was always fraught with stress and tension. My brother is a huge Chuck Palahniuk fan so I decided to give him a try. It was definitely different from anything I've read before. It was definitely a great book! I had to read everything in it ^_^ I loved the format as well!

I enjoyed this unconventionally formatted tale. If you like a linear progression and don't want to skip around as directed it's still a decent read. I recommend following the directions of the author, however. Included are strange loops, entire chapters in mirror image print and changes in space and time! Whee??!! I like this sort of thing and I love Palahniuk's twisted sensibilities. If his characters were running loose our lives would be more interesting and more frustrating. <brag> I did read the mirrored text without a mirror</brag> hooray me.

A must read for anyone who enjoys darker humor. Chuck Palahniuk paints an incredible picture with words.

I couldn't put it down. I highly recommend ANYTHING written by Chuck Palahniuk.

From the author of fight club. This is an excuse to publish a hardcover edition of this book. Not a sequel, this hardcover contains a few new essays to go along with the original soft cover novel. One of my favorite stories from Chuck Palahniuk. Only for those who appreciate very dark humor.

I hate how I don't feel real enough unless people are watching.

No matter how careful you are, there's going to be the sense you missed something, the collapsed feeling under your skin that you didn't experience it all. There's that fallen heart feeling that you rushed right through the moments where you should've been paying attention.
Well, get used to that feeling. That's how your whole life will feel some day. This is all practice.

All God does is watch us and kill us when we get boring. We must never, ever be boring.

Another thing is no matter how much you think you love somebody, you'll step back when the pool of their blood edges up too close.
