The walls would tremble. The dishes would break.
Oh, what a terrible mess we would make!

If all the animals came inside, bears would run down the stairs, kangaroos would bounce on the couch, and hippos would play hide-and-seek through the halls! Join one family's wild romp as animals of all shapes and sized burst through the front door and make themselves right at home!

For the last 35 years, Marc Brown has entertained generations of readers with one of the world's most adored children's book characters, Arthur. Now we're thrilled to introduce Marc to the LBYR list in a fresh new way. His delightful collage illustrations showcase a brand-new look for this beloved artist.

Extraordinary artwork pairs with Eric Pinder's hilarious rhyming verse to make this the perfect book to read aloud again and again.

This book explores the silly situation of animals living in the house. At first it seems fun to ride on their backs and make mom and dad have funny faces, but then the animals start sleeping in the childrens' beds and watching their TV, and the kids ultimately decide they like having just their dog and cat indoors. The book is loaded with energy, and lots of fun sounds (not animal sounds, but sounds of the house creaking and items smashing). Great rhythm and rhyme. My two year old was engrossed and my 3 year old was memorizing the rhymes.

I liked the illustrations especially when the mom was yelling at the panda.

It’s a wild ruckus of a read, with meter, rhyme and repetition, and bursting to the seams with energy. A race to the final page.

Spilling the popcorn and causing a riot, whooping and snorting--they'd never be quiet!
