Carriger's really amped up the crazy in this edition. Very appropriate for the penultimate book of the series.

I just love the whimsy of this series! It's a humorous steampunk paranormal romance adventure book with quite a bit of upper crust British etiquette being broken this time around. The author just pulls it off so well, even with a waddling…

Welcome to the world, Baby Maccon! All I can say is how typically Alexia it is to have her baby in this way. I’ll be very interested to see how the new little bundle of joy affects Pack life and the storyline.

I'm still convinced that the first book in this series was the best, but where the entire story has been gradually losing steam, the end of this one puts a twist on the tale that (I hope) should revive it.

I agree with other reviewers that this book is a return to form. Book 3 was much weaker, aside from the emotional drama with Lord Akeldama and Biffy. Book 4 does better, satisfying with drama, wit, action, and surprises!

A return to form for Carriger - Books 1 and 2 of the Parasol Protectorate were fun romps, but seemed to run out of steam by book 3.

So far Soulless (Book 1) and Heartless are the best books in this series. This book was as funny as Soulless.
