An underrated film.

I was really into this movie and thought it was great until the ending. It is almost as if the same writer didn't finish it. Odd. The ending brought it down from 4 stars to 2.5.

I couldn't help but be drawn into the story. The ending was a bit flat.

I went into this one not knowing much and hoping for a competitive puzzling movie in the vein of The Queen’s Gambit. The movie delivered on neither front. However, once I set aside my own expectations, I found this to be a well-paced and…

This movie made me think. A lot. How often do us men have a one dimensional way of thinking about the women in our lives ? Grandmothers, mothers, wives, daughters, everyone has dreams and hopes and …

Slow moving. A really bleak representation of being a mother and a wife. I wouldn't want her life for anything. Her "awakening" doesn't go anywhere. It was depressing watching a woman being basically a servant to her family, with no…

Can’t believe how many comments said it was a lovely movie. Really???? Very sad and depressing.

I absolutely love this movie. Watched it twice and then bought my own copy. The lead actor plays his part so well. I admit that I first saw the movie because I love jigsaw puzzles, but the film is way more than that. It’s a wonderful…

Well done. Interesting portrait of patriarchal blue-collar family where Dad makes all the important decisions and Mom meekly follows along until her break-out transformation. But I couldn’t cheer for her because it seemed to me that she…

A story about a women in transition. Captivating and a good film.

Yes, there was some fantasy about it. But I really got into it. Didn't want it to end.

This was a disappointing film with too many unlikelihoods. Really, this timid woman is going to meet up with a man about whom she knows absolutely nothing especially given his notice’s bizarre request (for a puzzle partner)- and she is…

lousy movie; lousy ending. right up there with 'cairo time' where a married white woman gets involved with an interesting man of color but lets him down in the end and holding the bag. it's just wrong to use people like that.

I liked the movie, it’s very relaxing to watch. Well acted. Somewhat fascinating characters. A little sad, but interesting and moving.

Sadly I was disappointed. I have liked films with the two main characters before, but this movie left me wishing for something more or different. Kristi & Abby Tabby

If all a man wants is obedience and loyalty, then he should get a dog.

Wife pigeon-holes herself into playing a wife/mother/church-goer then in mid life she finds a crack that leads her into an untapped revelation that she's more than her mind has been taught to know about herself and the world. I thought…

We've seen this plot line before: insecure, mousy housewife with no life of her own finds an outside spark and pursues it into adultery as part of her "awakening". Irrfan Khan's self-absorption is not attractive and you wonder why she…

A lovely movie....meaningful. Glad for the ending. Cheers to those, who need to find themselves. Cheers to those, who have already found the true self. Liked the music as well.

Beautifully slow-paced but interesting contemporary film about the dynamics of a family, especially the mother, Agnes, who has spent years making herself quietly indispensable to the needs and wants of her family. A 1000 piece puzzle…

Quiet, slow, low-energy. Good character development and growth, but based on the unlikely premise that somebody would have to go to a far away city just to buy a jigsaw puzzle. Ultimately, at nearly 2 hours long, it was just too slow.

Unusual movie but I quite enjoyed it. I'm sure it's right up my daughter's sleeve.

Poignant - the story and the characters. The ending is a pleasant surprise. Kelly MacDonald plays her role perfectly. Irrfan Khan is his handsome sensuous self. If you enjoy him in this move watch Lunch Box.

There are so few good movies with women main characters over 40. This is definitely one of them. Agnes (Kelly Macdonald) undergoes midlife transformation from put-upon home-maker to realization of her own self worth and abilities. I…

This is a story that pretty much every woman (and probably man) comes to at roughly this age..40 something. It is a time of reckoning. Often called midlife crisis. Can you really expect 18-20 year olds to make a partner for LIFE choice?…
