I checked this out just to browse through, but ended up reading it from cover to cover. As usual, DS is an amusing escape from one's own reality. I did not think I would stick with 600+ pages of Sedaris' random diary entries, but lol and…

I laughed, I winced. Funny, what he observes, how he writes about it. I’m SO unlike him - his TV and reading choices, his love of shopping, homes in Chicago, New York, Paris, London - more like people he skewers. How devastating it would…

A splendidly sane writer in an increasingly insane world. There's nothing funnier than real life and Mr. Sedaris pens it beautifully. Love this guy!

A "best of" Sedaris story-telling adventure, taking you along a variety of brutally honest, intensely sarcastic and hilarious life experiences.

Great compilation of David Sedaris's diaries going back to his late youth. His observations are great and to the point. Often funny, poignant, revealing, and soul-baring. He doesn't mince words when he includes self-deprecating comments.…

It produced a reasonably good number of laughs. But if a hundred pages could have been excised from the book, that would have improved my opinion of it.

Fans of David Sedaris have had a big treat to enjoy this year : access to (many!) selected entries of his personal diaries, dating from when he first started documenting weird and quirky things observed during the day when he was a poor…

If you're a fan of Sedaris's work, you'll absolutely love this. I so enjoyed reading his diaries and realizing where the seeds to his stories came from. It was like watching the bonus features on your favorite DVD.

I really enjoyed the diary format and found myself wanting more of some of the entries. Learned a lot about the author.

I enjoyed the getting-to-know-David in this, his book of diary entries. His early days, how he viewed the world was enjoyable and allowed the reader to get to know the author in his formative years and his quirky view of the everyday. …

It's better than every book review will tell you. If you enjoy Sedaris stories, this is all the meat and no fluffy side distractions. All the humor while opening up his most embarrassing moments, as well as the serious, backbreaking, bone…

Definitely not the Sedaris book to start with but if you've read everything else he's written (as you should) this is a logical next place to go. A fun read to be consumed like junk food and reality tv: in small, digestible bites or as…

Theft By Finding is not my new favourite David Sedaris book, and I don't think it's the right place to start if you're looking for your first Sedaris book. That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed this collection of diary entries! Readers…

It's fun to see where some of the inspiration for of his other books comes from through snippets from his diary entries in this book whether it's abusive neighbor Helen in New York or all the characters he observes being a regular at…

If you are a David Sedaris fan, as I am, this will not disappoint. If you are new to his work, I'd suggest starting with an earlier work such as Me Talk Pretty One Day or When You Are Engulfed in Flames. I love the way his mind works and…

Funny (as you'd expect) but also shows the growth in both writing skill and confidence as Sedaris grows from a quite young and inexperienced man into the author he is today. Can't wait for book #2!

For when Trump bans laptops and tablets on planes, there's always a good old laugh out loud book to read! Others will envy!
