IMDB lists this as unrated but I would rate it as Mature due to violence and sensitive sexual content (no nudity.) Like a Kingsmen, manners maketh Miss Meadows. Dexter + Shirley Temple + quirky comedy = Miss Meadows.
liked this movie she was a female Charles Bronson. A weird sorta humorous type character Mrs. Meadows.
The most common--and accurate--adjective for this movie is "quirky." It was made for people who like black humor and who will enjoy watching Katie Holmes spread her wings here, showing more rounded talent than she is normally allowed with her depiction of a delightfully odd character.
Katie Holmes needs to find better venues to showcase her talent. She is a pretty and fine actress, and her mannerisms playing this character were quite endearing. The rest of the cast were somewhat dull and uninteresting, and the pace slowed to crawl after a somewhat promising beginning. This one was really not worth the long hold wait.
I was pleasantly surprised by Miss Meadows. I thought Katie Holmes was great in the role of a young woman who embraces a childlike persona, a princess with a deadly purpose. Her performance, with her little eccentricities, was endearing. Supporting actors were very good. After viewing the movie, watch the interview with Katie Holmes.
Kev's PICkS: I highly recommend seeing this right after viewing "Dark Tourist".
(...and please let me know what you think ?)
I enjoyed this film. It's a bit quirky, but I like quirky. It is sort of Mary Poppins meets Gloria, but with a smaller caliber gun.
Don't expect a violent bloody thriller, but a lighthearted drama that involved several quick vigilante killings of men who provoked the sense of injustice of one quirky sing-song first grade teacher. With only gleams of the charming Miss Meadows' s past as a tiny girl and in her very near future, audiences are tempted to fill in the blanks.
