Field Trip: Kauffman Center Tour

11:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Kauffman Center

Join us for a tour of the Kauffman Center for Performing Arts.  This architectural tour and history of this Moshe Safdie designed building and its various uses is a great behind-the-scenes experience.  We will prepay for the tour.  There is a $5 cost per person, payable at the event to Jack to reimburse the prepayment.  Please bring cash or a check made out to LPLFF.  Parking instructions will follow as we get closer to the event.  There is a 35 person limit to this tour.  After the tour, you can always head over to the Plaza or go to the 17th & Summit area for lunch.

The tour is wheelchair accessible and elevators are available for floor changes.

Tour Plan Your tour guide(s) will meet you on the Plaza Lobby Level just inside the south doors at 11 AM. You will visit Brandmeyer Great Hall and learn about the construction and architecture of the building. While there may be schedule changes between now and your tour, as of today you will be able to visit both Muriel Kauffman Theatre and Helzberg Hall. Our knowledgeable guides will educate your group on both spaces. We will then wrap up the tour by 12 PM.

Parking Regardless of whether your group will be traveling via van, bus, or individual cars, the best parking option for your group will be on the valet driveway or “drop-off drive.” It is pictured in the attached aerial photo and runs parallel to the south side of our building, which is the all-glass side that faces the Crossroads Arts District and Union Station. The members of your party can access the drive from Broadway, pull under the big cables, and park near the south doors. Your tour will be led by our knowledgeable guides. The building will be open and unlocked at this time, but if you have any issues entering, the number to our ticket office is (816) 994 - 7222.

Tour Route & Accessibility The tour will last approximately one hour, and there are opportunities along the route to sit and rest while the tour guide shares information. The tour route is accessible for folks using mobility devices, but please let us know if anyone in your group would like to request any additional accommodations.

Once again, we are so excited to host you on Wednesday, July 10th, 2024 at 11 AM!
