Join us as we introduce a new series of nature studies programs in cooperation with the KU Natural History Museum and the Biodiversity Program and the KU Field Station and Biological Survey. We will visit the museum for behind-the-scenes tours of their collections lead by the University collection managers and experience the out-of-doors on guided walks and presentations at the KU Field Station and other locations. The tour groups will generally be small for a close-up experience and the opportunity to answer as many questions as possible. If you are into fauna, flora, and the outdoors...this is for you. We have programs planned from January through June of 2024. The sessions at the Natural History Museums may have updates as the professors have research and teaching schedules that sometimes change. Please check back for updates. There is a charge of $5 per person for each of these events. For outdoor events, please bring cash or a check.
We will join our host, Wendy Holman, for a snake walk behind Rockefeller Prairie to see snakes in nature. (This event will be potentially hot with a decent amount of walking, and a potential to be in an area with ticks. We will supply spray. Dress appropriately with long pants, socks, closed shoes, hats.)
