Join the Lawrence Public Library in partnership with local housing experts to hear about the work that is happening to solve our community’s rental housing crisis. We’ll have local housing experts on hand to share their expertise in a panel discussion about feasible policy solutions like inclusive screening practices, banning housing discrimination based on source of income, and tenants’ rights to counsel. Audience members will also have the opportunity to ask questions!

This panel conversation is geared towards anyone interested in learning more about their community and this issue. As well as anyone interested in connecting with people who seek compassionate solutions to this crisis.

We'll have the following panelists join us: 

  • Gabi Sprague, Douglas County Human Services Program Manager
  • Mariel Ferreiro, Lawrence Douglas County Housing Authority Landlord Liaison 
  • Savannah Fergus, Lawrence Community Shelter Housing Stabilization Case Manager
  • Gabby Boyle, Sexual Trauma and Abuse Care Center 
  • Kincaid Dennett, Executive Director of People's Owned and Operated Collective Housing
