New York Times bestselling author, Susan Orlean will be in conversation with former Los Angeles Public Library Children’s Librarian and current LPL Director, Brad Allen. They will talk about Orlean’s experience researching her latest work, The Library Book, which tells the story of the 1986 arson fire at the Los Angeles Public Library: the most catastrophic library fire in American history. In the process, Orlean reveals how public libraries provide much more than just books—and why they remain an essential part of the heart, mind, and soul of our country. The Raven will have copies of her work for sale, and a signing will follow her talk.

Doors will open at 6pm. Seating will be limited to the first 300 people who attend, so get here early to get screened and in your seat.

*Proof of fully vaccinated status is required to attend this show. Patrons must present a vaccine card with matching ID upon entry. Proof of vaccination can be a physical paper copy or a snapshot on your mobile device (date of birth must be visible), along with a matching photo ID.
