Lawrence Green Spaces Gallery Talk / Youtube

7:00 PM – 7:30 PM

Description

Several artists of the Lawrence Green Spaces Art Project discuss the ideas and processes behind their posters celebrating the natural locations of Lawrence, Kansas. The Lawrence Green Spaces Art Project was inspired by the WPA posters of the 1930s and 1940s that captured the democratic and majestic spirit of the country's National Parks and stirred America's imagination with their simple, yet elegant, style. This new series of Lawrence posters emulates the ambition and scope of the original project as it explores the unique aspects of natural public spaces in our community.
